After leading the river cruise industry for two decades, and receiving overwhelming demand from our guests, we set out to reinvent ocean cruising with the vision of taking the best of the Viking river cruise experience to the seas. Guided by our guests, we achieved what we set out to do.

Our award-winning ocean fleet, which will number ten by the end of 2022, is engineered at a size that allows direct access into most ports, so guests enjoy easy and efficient embarkation and disembarkation. Each identical sister ship boasts a private veranda in every stateroom, a choice of restaurants offering a variety of fine dining options, the most al fresco dining at sea, an infinity pool, a Nordic-inspired spa, and more—all designed in understated elegance.

We believe that our guests are entitled to a great view wherever they are on board, so when we designed our ocean ships, we made sure that every stateroom — no matter what category — had its own spacious, private veranda. Each stateroom is finished in a serene elegant décor and calm colours to create the perfect sanctuary with more room in which to relax, beautifully appointed ensuite, with a powerful shower and heated flooring, 24-hour complimentary room service, complimentary Wi-Fi so you can stay connected to home, and a flat-screen TV with movies on demand.

On Board Enrichment – bringing culture and history to life

We are proud to partner with some of the world’s leading cultural organisations in order to provide guests a curated on board experience like no other. Viking’s Resident Historians and guest lecturers deliver high-level education specific to the journey, providing invaluable insight a destination’s history, art, architecture, music, geopolitics, natural world and more. Destination performances, TED Talks and our on board libraries curated by renowned bookshop Heywood Hill in London’s Mayfair provide a wealth of learning opportunities. For the art lovers, Viking ships house the largest private art collection of works by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch outside of Oslo. And that is just the beginning.

Fine cuisine and exciting dining opportunities are a fundamental component of any Viking voyage. Our ocean vessels put the spotlight on fine cuisine in The Restaurant, our main dining venue, which features a wide choice of culinary options. Our alternative restaurants — the World Café, The Chef’s Table and Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant — serve both regional specialties and western classics, and Mamsen’s, our traditional Scandinavian deli, features light meals based on Torstein Hagen’s mother’s own recipes. With so many on board dining opportunities, there is something to please every palate.
